Hearing and auditory function can have a
significant impact on the development of language and communication for
students which in turn can affect their academic progress. We are very
fortunate that our audiology department is able to provide support for our students
with hearing loss.
CKCIE Audiology Department performs hearing screenings each school year for all
students in KDG, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th,
7th, 9th, and 11th grades. New students and students with an IEP will
also be screened. Parents/guardians are
notified of these hearing test results.
The CKCIE Audiology program serves all public schools in Saline,
Dickinson, Ellsworth, and Ottawa counties plus the Central Plains district in Rice and Barton Counties and the Rural Vista district in Morris County.
Hearing testing for preschool age
children is conducted at the CKCIE office in Salina (409 W Cloud) by
appointment. There is no charge for the
testing. Parents can call 309-5144 to schedule
