Opportunity Now Education Center Opportunity Now is a high school that serves students in grades 9-12 utilizing a therapeutic day school model. In addition to pursuing high school graduation by earning academic and vocational credits, the students at Opportunity Now typically have complex multi-agency involvement due to mental health, medical, and social serviceneeds that necessitiate group and individual therapies as well as intensive case management in the school setting. Opportunity Now students are not generally conduct disordered or have a primary history of juvenile delinguency. Opportunity Now is not an incarceration or juvenile detention facility nor is it a clinical hospital placement. Opportunity Now is one of four main options for meeting the needs of high school students with disabilities who have significant social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs in the Central Kansas Cooperative in Education. The program is designed to accommodate roughly 30 students utilizing 3 full time teachers, 6 paraeducators and 5 part administrative/support staff. The Opportunity Now campus sits at 219 S. 3rd in Salina and was formerly known as the Special Education Center.
